This book covers the coping strategies used to survive bullying and worse. Rex reaches out for help, telling his parents who ignore him, even a psychologist who tells him never to speak of it again, and tries to talk him into accepting that he is a boy on the outside and must stay that way regardless of the girl on the inside.
